The CPFN unites the 42 practice firms operating in Canada. A practice firm is a virtual company and a centre of vocational learning that runs like a "real" business silhouetting a "real" firm's business procedures, products and services. The 42 Canadian practice firms (PF)s do business with each other and with more than 7,500 PFs from more than 42 countries around the world. The participants of a pedagogical PF are administration and commerce students. The participants of an employability PF are job seekers with expertise in administration and commerce. By carrying out their duties just as they would in a real firm, under the supervision of qualified staff members, they can acquire concrete professional experience in a real office environment within an international trade context. Each Canadian PF is a non-profit organization managed by a promoter and guided by one or more sponsor firms.
