We are Cannabis Amnesty. An independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to righting the wrongs caused by decades of cannabis criminalization in Canada.Since 2018, we have been at the forefront of advocating for justice and fairness on behalf of those who continue facing the unjust consequences of cannabis convictions. We have facilitated partnerships with industry leaders to challenge the stigma on cannabis convictions, lobbied on behalf of communities harmed by cannabis prohibition, and championed equity within the cannabis industry. In 2019, our push for legislative reform led to the creation of expedited pardons for simple cannabis possession, but our work is not done yet.We are now expanding our mandate to offer direct support to individuals harmed by cannabis prohibition, with a legal clinic to assist those with cannabis convictions to clear their records, and a fellowship program working to dismantle the barriers to economic opportunity created by cannabis convictions.
