Canolfan Maerdy is a registered charity set up and run by members of the community to provide the following services to the people of the upper Amman Valley:1. Student placement and work experienceWe provide access to training courses, employment and volunteering opportunities and work in conjunction with other local businesses, organisations and authorities to help meet the needs of our community. Recent courses hosted in conjunction with the centre include collaborations with Swansea University, BEST (Building Engineering Services Training) and NPT County Council. Incorporated into the centre, Lots Of Tots is a long established, fully bi-lingual day nursery with an excellent reputation for affordable childcare. The Nursery is based in a spacious building adjoining the centre, in Tairgwaith, near Gwaun Cae Gurwen, halfway between Pontardawe and Ammanford. It has excellent indoor and outdoor facilities and is staffed by a dedicated team of qualified, experienced, childcare professionals.
