Since 1977 we have successfully provided support, recreation and training opportunities for 5-25 year olds to help them overcome barriers and secure a great future. The Youth Work Services Team work in the Old Town, Holyrood and Southside areas of Edinburgh, and The Employability and Training Services Team work with young people from Edinburgh and the Lothians. Our vision is for children and young people in Edinburgh and the Lothians to be healthy, happy and secure, belong in their communities and become confident and fulfilled adults We are an independent voluntary organisation with charitable status (Scottish Charity no. SC000600). We are managed by a Board of Trustees comprised of people with a specific interest in the development of young people, local people, together with representatives from a range of local organisations and agencies. These include police, local politicians from the four main political parties Children & Families Department, representatives from a number of community organisations, parents, volunteers and others interested in the wellbeing of young people. We have a contract with the City of Edinburgh Council Children and Families Department for the provision of Youth Work and Early Intervention services. Money is also raised from Charitable Trusts to support these services. The Employability and Training Services department receive funding from Skills Development Scotland. Additional fundraising activities are undertaken on a regular basis to augment the programme and to provide additional activities and equipment for the work of the organisation.
