CAPE was founded in 1981 by 3 partners who were classmates from BUET, batch of 1980. Architect Raziul Ahsan continued the practice as the sole designer and proprietor from around 1987-1988.1997 , December 28th , saw the end of Raziul Ahsan who died in a car crash on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway. Although being physically absent from existence, his work lived in different parts of Bangladesh . His works were very powerful in terms of climate and social aspect. His absence physically, absence of his thoughts and absence of his works from 1998 onwards seem like a major loss towards contribution towards Bangladeshi architecture and design.I , his daughter , and my husband Kafi Newaz Khan,both graduated from BRAC university, Department of Architecture in 2008 finally decided to start our own venture in 2015 June. Well wishers and family members suggested us that it would be great to start CAPE again, but the peer pressure , and the pressure to fill the void left by Architect Raziul Ahsan was huge. In the end we did start CAPE with one tiny project on JULY 01st 2015 and now after 2 years of struggle and 20 years of being away from the architecture scene of Bangladesh ,Consulting Architects Planners & Engineers- CAPE is officially flying.
