Nonprofit Organization Management - Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Newcomers and Refugees to Canada often lack adequate access to healthcare, education, and employment due to language and technological barriers as well as constraints of supporting a family. This regrettably makes it difficult for them to integrate into their new community in the nation's capital. Capital Integration Movement brings together a group of Ottawa youth of various ages, educational experiences, cultural backgrounds and language skills who share a common vision: that youth can make an impact and it is up to us to address the needs of our city's burgeoning immigrant community. Our magic formula is to always dedicate a listening ear, an empathetic heart, boundless enthusiasm for cooperation and a willingness to act. We're on a mission to provide newcomers with accurate information and direct them to available resources and strive to not only lend a hand — but also help newcomers become truly independent by addressing skill gaps (e.g. language skills and internet literacy). This will manifest itself in the form of a comprehensive resource hub, a series of care packages, and in-person/virtual webinars. Most importantly, as the cornerstone of our movement, all the above initiatives will be delivered in as many languages as possible.
