The first Capitol Hill Volleyball Classic was held over Presidents' Day weekend at the Washington Convention Center (WCC) in February 2007. On that weekend, 144 teams registered and played on 18 courts in Hall C alongside the annual Washington Boat Show. The tournament consistently grew by 100 teams, year after year. In addition to hosting teams from all over the United States, The Classic has hosted teams from as far away as China, Holland, Canada, and Puerto Rico.In 2018, the event accepted 968 teams and set up 122 courts in the WCC. The Capitol Hill Classic in Washington, DC is now the largest youth volleyball tournament in the world over Presidents' Day weekend. Any juniors team that wants to participate and is registered with its appropriate USAV organization, can apply for acceptance. The Classic is truly an unforgettable event in the most powerful city in the world!
