Capoeira Karkara is the premiere Capoeira academy in Palm Beach County. We provide Capoeira classes and programs to kids and adults of all ages, after school pick up, summer camp & day camp on no-school days. We are known for providing a sense of family for our members, and striving to preserve the Brazilian Cultural Arts in Palm Beach County.What sets capoeira apart from other martial arts and less multifaceted activities is how dynamic it is, incorporating elements of self-defense, dance, acrobatics, music, culture & fitness to the whole family. People like to come to our academy to be around good people and share good energy, to feel lifted up, confident and motivated.We are most proud of never giving up even when the 1st few years we only had 1 or 2 people showing up in our classes we never stopped showing up consistently, because we were faithful to our mission and still are. After 13 years of working together as married couple we remain just as passionate about Capoeira and each other and our family that we are raising together practically at the academy. We are also proud of cultivating a true family over time and being an influential and supportive role to so many kids as they grow up. We, the owners Alberto & Sara Conceicao, started teaching Capoeira because it was something that we are both passionate about. We helped each other to fulfill our dreams, and we also recognize that it is our mission to spread Capoeira throughout our community. In the beginning we did not have our own studio so we were teaching in different places locally in Boynton Beach starting in April of 2006. We had no plan other than had was fun teaching capoeira and introducing the culture of the Brazilian Martial Art to people. However, the students started to come more and more willing to learn more about Capoeira that it got to the point that we needed to open our own studio. The first one was a small area just to be able to fit the students and times went by, and we had to open another studio which is the one that we have today, and it is two times bigger than the first one. We needed a big place to be able to accommodate all the students we have today. Everything happened naturally, while we were just following our hearts and our dream. We are very blessed to be where we are today, and thankful for the Capoeira in our lives.
