Caracara Films Ltd. is founded by Annebel Huijboom & Esther Trienekens. We both have a background in anthropology and we are currently in the process of completing our master's degrees in Visual Anthropology at Goldsmiths University. As anthropologists we are trained to see people as more than just a subject; rather, we seek to look beyond the surface of people's lives so as to fully understand their way of living. This is something we apply to our filmmaking as such, Caracara's focus lies not just on making films that are simply about people, but on films with people in the hope that we can create new possibilities and bring about positive change.The name Caracara derives from the Caracara bird, which is known for its sharp vision. This sharp vision and seeing beyond the topic is a key point in our films. We offer a wide range of visual material, ranging from documentaries and ethnographic film to short business profiles. We are trained in the whole process of filmmaking and prefer to work in small setups. We believe that in this way we are able to get closer to our subject and believe that this is key to good filmmaking.
