At Carcel we envision a new world of fashion, where each piece of clothing solves a problem instead of creating one. We create a range of products to complement the closet of anyone with a desire to embrace functional, responsible and timeless design. We invest in long-lasting impact, thoughtful design and premium materials. We don't work with seasons or have sales. While following the less is more ethos, we produce in limited quantities and invest in quality over quantity.Each item is designed in our Copenhagen studio and manufactured inside women's prisons with the finest natural materials, sourced locally in the region of production – Alpaca in Peru, Silk in Thailand. The women in our team are the core of our company, and their stories are the driving force of our business. They share their traditions and craftsmanship with us, and we create opportunities for them to learn new skills and gain a fair wage so they can provide for themselves and their families and remap their future.
