Public Policy - Palo Alto, California, United States
Our mission is to harness the diverse passions and expertise of the Stanford Undergraduate student body to help California legislators and policy organizations research and develop solutions to challenging policy dilemmas. In the winter of 2020, a group of 12 Stanford students came together to brainstorm how they could use policy as a driving force for social change and connect their fellow classmates to the policy-making sphere. Fueled by a deep commitment to justice, the Cardinal Policy Group was born—a cohort of students focused on helping policy-makers conduct comprehensive research on pressing social issues and develop evidence-based solutions. Legislators and policy organizations tackle dozens of social issues every year. Through methods including literature reviews, data analysis, and policy comparisons, our teams provide policy organizations and legislators with reports that encapsulate their research on specific policy questions and recommend courses of action that build off of their findings.
