We are about love and support for families and individuals on the autism spectrum. Many of those on the spectrum struggle to feel the same joy as other peers on birthdays or holidays. This is due to a number of triggers such as changes in routines, overwhelming anxiety, as well as many have limited number of people who will attend their party if they can have one. Many times, Autism is met with other comorbid conditions that lead to extended stays in the hospital which can be even more isolating. Together we can bring love and support through simply sending greeting cards in the mail to individuals who are requesting them. I was inspired to begin this project after becoming a distributor for Send Out Cards and seeing how simple cards make such a difference in our lives. As a mother of a son on the spectrum and recently diagnosed as an adult women with Aspergers, I knew what a difference this can make. Send Out Cards provided me a reasonable and affordable system with a monthly subscription that could be used easily to connect with not just individuals but families who need to know they are not alone. With that being said, we want people to use whatever means they can to send cards and only offer Send Out Cards as a way to send a number of free cards and an easy platform to print, stuff, stamp and mail your personalized greeting cards from the comfort of your home or cell phone App! Please send cards/letters with whatever means are available to you! There is no requirements for Cards for Autism. We are working to make Cards for Autism a non-profit that will offer a number of free cards to be sent and even PO Boxes to sponsored individuals requesting cards each month. Donates will help fund additional free cards to be send through Send Out Cards, cost of PO Boxes for individuals requiring additional privacy or lack of mailing address, and ads to help each request be seen more on social media.
