Nonprofit Organization Management - , ,
Our organization began in 1958 as a way to meet other women in Hawthorn Woods. Since that time, we have expanded our membership to communities outside of Hawthorn Woods and are continually striving to help worthwhile organizations. Membership is open to all ladies over the age of 21, interested in community, charity, and camaraderie. There are many benefits to becoming a member. You will enjoy fun-filled meetings with raffles and appetizers, get reduced rates for events, receive our monthly Woodtales publication and CWC Connections online newsletter. We encourage you to join online with a credit card and become a member today!Caring Women's Connection gives from the heart through our "Love Fund" by actively supporting outstanding local organizations: A Safe Place, Lake County Haven, Mount Saint Joseph, Staben House, and other community programs. The CWC also awards a Scholarship to a deserving high school senior in Lake County each year. Applications are on the website as of December 1 of each year and must be postmarked by March 1 to be eligible. The proceeds collected through the year goes into the Fund, and we are able to then assist the shelters and other community programs with their initiatives. The positive impact we can have on the lives of these women and children is amazing! Never underestimate the power of even a small kindness. We hold meetings to promote fun activities along with social interaction with our members. We are involved in community programs such as Emmaus House and The Chapel Food Pantry to help prepare and serve food. Our Holiday Hel
