I am a board certified Autonomous Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (AAPRN-BC), a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), a life and health coach, author and entrepreneur. My clinical experience includes Bellevue Hospital's Emergency/Trauma Department, various Intensive Care Units (ICU's), Home Health Case Management, Rehabilitation Departments, Psychiatric Hospitals, Urgent Care Clinics, Family Practices and Internal Medicine. For the past 25+ years I have provided medical care as a primary care provider in Naples, Florida. During the COVID 19 pandemic I transitioned my practice to telemedicine improving both safety and convenience for patients.My areas of expertise are health promotion, preventive heath care, risk factor reduction, chronic disease management, senior care services and lifestyle medicine. My specialty is translating complex medical concepts and treatment recommendations into language and behaviors that non-medical consumers find easy to understand and pleasurable to adopt.I see gaping holes between medical treatment plans created by professionals and patients/consumers understanding, agreement and adherence to them at home. This schism has resulted in millions falling into an abyss of chronic disease and frail old age. As a humanist, medical professional, business owner and health care strategist, my mission is to help people prevent and/or reverse chronic, preventable lifestyle diseases enabling them to "age to perfection". I am dedicated to helping individuals define and achieve their own life and health goals according to their own unique values and desires. As W.H. Auden said, "Health is a state about which medicine has nothing to say."
