I believe there is a gap in patient-facing jobs informed by the people recieving and directly providing a service. We see this happen everywhere, but specifically in industries serving those systemically labeled "in need", in which the needs, health, economic, interpersonal, rehabilitative, are great but federal investment is little. This leads to a once capable workforce experiencing employee burnout, average results, and a disjointed culture.It is my goal to expand the scope of workforce training because COVID-19 is exposing the integral role collective consciousness plays in healthcare ie. the health of an individual, family, community, business, state, nation. While management's desire to assist their employees develop and grow is genuine, there are sometimes instances in which they do not have the tools, knowledge, or confidence to address a particular concern or outrage. This can affect not only an employee's work productivity, but over time will rear its head through stress and anxiety. This time of collective crisis: a pandemic and increased social justice consciousness following police killings is exposing the reality of what many of your employees and clientele carry every day. We have to continue to find new and innovative ways to monitor employee health, particularly as the odds they are interacting with a person in crisis are extremely high in today's climate.When I sit with your people to facilitate cross disciplinary, action-oriented conversations, we will be able to create a sustainable and inclusive support system. My first step as your consultant is a needs assessment completed by your staff. With that information I will create tailored follow up workshops and take-home deliverables so your staff can always stay engaged with the materials covered. The family unit is all connected. Individuals are reliant upon the environment, or their neighbors, to thrive. We are all neighbors.
