Founded by Tanvi Johri and Rikshav Borah in the end of year 2017, the brand has already attracted over 50,000 customers in just one and a half years, and has been growing at a rate of 25 percent month-on-month. Presently, Carmesi sells its products online—via Carmesi's website and e-stores like Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa, Big Basket, and Purplle. The USP of the brand is that unlike synthetic intimate hygiene products, Carmesi makes its products with the finest natural ingredients, that are safe for a woman's body as well as the environment. Moreover, Carmesi focuses on delivering an experience that's empowering & unique, in an effort to shun the shame associated with periods. In 2018, Carmesi raised $500,000 in a pre-series A funding round, led by Samrath Bedi, Managing Director of Forest Essentials. After receiving a great response for pads and carving a niche for itself in the hygiene industry, Carmesi expanded its product portfolio and started offering natural, extremely soft, and incredibly thin panty liners.
