Farming - San Secondo di Pinerolo, Piemonte, Italy
We are a little farm and we produce red wine, honey and apple juice. We also love to host people from all the world in our two houses overlooking the vineyard. In every season of the year, you can stay in a spacious and welcoming apartment, "Casa Aiva", or in the romantic cottage "Il Ciabutin", and enjoy a region still very authentic, away from confusion and beaten tourist tracks, but only 40 km. from the lively city of Turin. The vineyard consists of different varieties of grapes, some autochthonous, as Doux D'Henry and Chatus, others more known as Barbera, Bonarda and Neretta Cuneese. The southern exposure of the hill, let us produce a good red wine, the wine Ciabutin, the alcohol content of around 13-14 °. We entrust the vinification to Malva Arnaldi-School, they are doing a great job on the Pinerolo area for biodiversity, conservation and recovery of local crops. We also have bees and we discovered how fascinating their world is. The honey "Millefiori" is collected on the flowers of our hill in the months of May, June and July. This place fascinated us the first time we saw it. Waking up you watch the sunrise and relaxing in the evening one is grateful for this view that they can never have enough of. The choice of name sums up the pleasant feeling that is enjoyed here all year round.Aiva means Acqua (Water): at the propriety there is a water source, very important for the fields (agriculture, vegetable garden and the vineyard) and for the animals. The name Aiva also summarises 4 significant words for us:Aria (Air): here the air is clear. Incanto (Enchainting): from here we enjoy an incredibile view over the plains which extend to Turin and eventually to Cuneese. Vacanza (Holiday): we invite you to spend some days here to relax, in contact with nature and in a sustainable environment. Agricoltura (Agriculture): we enjoy cultivating the Vineyard, the orchard, and the vegetable garden, which provides us with healthy products which are good all year round.
