Constructed between 1900 and 1905, Casa Burés takes its name from its first owner, Francesc Burés, owner of Industrias Burés, one of Spain's most successful textile companies.Originally, the ground floor housed the company's headquarters while the 1,000 m2 first floor was the Burés family home wich right now is divided in two private properties plus 24 apartments where a Luxury Concierge Service is provided. The building was rehabilitated by a developer from Barcelona. The laborious rehabilitation took more than two years and has been carried out side by side with the city council's heritage experts. Artisans from many disciplines participate in the works with the aim of recovering the historical elements that have suffered deterioration due to the passage of time or due to misuse or looting from the interior of the building. The building's front at the corner of Carrer Ausiàs March and Carrer Girona is just as imposing today as when it was first built. It is inside, however, where Casa Burés' greatest treasures are to be found.
