Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens is a vast 10 acre landscape surrounding a Jacobean Hall, the former seat of the Earls of Bradford, which is now privately owned and run separately as a hotel. The garden was rescued by volunteers over 30 years ago, when the current independent Charitable Trust was formed. Over 600 species of, mainly pre-1760, plants and fruit are cared for in the gardens, including 63 varieties of heritage apples, pears and soft fruit. Over 2 kilometres of hedging in yew, hornbeam, box and holly are clipped and trimmed. Numerous parterres, a holly walk and holly maze are among the many features loved by our volunteers and visitors alike. The Trust relies on over 120 volunteers to maintain the gardens, open the site to the public for over 250 days per year and to run a variety of events, including educational and family-friendly programmes. The input of volunteers is worth over £200,000 to the running of the site, and we are always looking on the lookout for more volunteers!Current Volunteering Opportunities include: - Event Support Volunteering- Family Friendly Activities Roles- Digital Volunteering- Volunteer Co-ordinator Assistant More information is available on: http://castlebromwichhallgardens.org.uk/helping-us-out/Quick Online Application Form available at: http://castlebromwichhallgardens.org.uk/volunteer-enquiry-form/
