Information Technology & Services - Soshanguve, Gauteng, South Africa
The start of CATHEL TECH (Cathrine Elmon Technologies(PTY)LTD) began after the founder(MrGolden Tshegofatso Komane) realised that the is a gap in the technology industry in townships, particularly our township, Soshanguve. Mal-pricing and quality were the driving factors of foundingCATHEL TECH. The combination of the names come from the names of the founder's parents, namely Cathrine(CATH) + Elmon (El) which shortened spells, CATHEL.We landed our first clients in that year. They were (amongst others) Commodities In Motion andAbso Cargo, both in the transport industry. Our focus was solemnly the creation of websites for our clients. We moved from 3 clients to 20clients just in one year alone. Due to an increase in the demand for graphics and digital marketingservices, we decided to introduce new services connected to tech. That led to subsidiaries beingcreated to deal with branding and digital marketing. This is also the year that Mr Shikunzi Abu'BAKAR joined the company first as a sales agent, thenmoved to the position of finance and client services.2016This year marked a milestone. We earned international recognition after servicing a giantclient based in LESOTHO. Our clientele grew so much that we were scattered and found ourselvesservicing people in different industries. We serviced clients from industries such as finance, transport, non-profits, academics, entertainment, food, auditing firms, maintenance, constructionand many more.2017Looking back, since 2014 we have served more than 130 companies in and outside of the borders ofSouth Africa. When we started, we were only developing websites but recently, we have grown tobe able to provide all-round tech services. From web development, hosting, domain registration, digital marketing and corporate identity services. We might have not grown as anticipated monetarily but the reinvestment strategy worked and isthus evident that we can grow even further
