CATOREX is the flagship watch brand of CATTIN + CIE S.A., a family business run in 6th generation by Guy Albert Cattin. CATTIN + CIE was created by Constant Cattin in 1858 and is the only Swiss watchmaker to have developed and produced timepieces on a continuous basis for over 160 years. Georges Ignace Cattin, farmer-watchmaker, was born in 1785. He was the first in a line of perennial master watchmakers and was followed by his son, Constant Cattin, born in 1818, founder of CATTIN + CIE in 1858. They were followed by Numa (3rd generation) and Armand and Maurice (4th generation), born in 1861, 1885 and 1887 respectively. Guy Cattin, father of Guy Albert, the current owner registered the CATOREX brand name in 1957. Guy Albert took over the family business in 1994. In June 2019 the company sets a new milestone with the introduction of a new business model starting with the opening of its online CATOREX shop and the launch of a new margin policy corresponding to production costs X3 instead of X7 ore more, usually practised in the industry. CATOREX is a niche brand, combining watchmaking excellence and an exceptional pricing strategy. Its timekeepers are produced in limited quantities on demand.
