CellBank Australia -- Australia's national cell line repository -- has been established by researchers, for researchers, to promote Good Cell Culture Practice and to provide quality-validated cell lines and cell culture-related services. CellBank Australia is a not-for-profit organisation, owned and operated by the Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI; Westmead, NSW, Australia) from July 2007.CellBank Australia offers the following;► Cell Line Sales and Distribution service: 50 of its own novel Australian cell lines (global); more than 1,760 cell lines supplied by the European Collection of Cell Cultures (ECACC) (Australia and New Zealand only).► Cell Line Deposit services: Catalogue Deposit (free-of-charge), Secure Storage, Patent Deposit. ► Cell Testing services: Authentication Testing, Mycoplasma Testing. ► Custom Culture service: Culture and Return (master and working banks).► Consultation and Education services (free-of-charge): Cell Line Management Programs, Seminars, Newsletters, Surveys.As a not-for-profit organisation, all revenue received by CellBank Australia is used, along with grant funding from various sources, to offset the operational costs of the facility.
