The Center for Arts, Design and Social Research is founded on the principle that creative work is essential to all human cultures and the foundation for building sustainable and interdependent global societies. The Center's core programs include fellowships and residencies for artists, designers, scientists, technologists, writers, and humanities and social science researchers. The Center convenes people from diverse backgrounds and experiences to share knowledge addressing urgent issues in global societies. Knowledge is cooperatively generated and openly shared through workshops, residencies, exhibitions, publications, seminars, and collaborative research projects. The Center is a site for experiments in the arts, technology, and research methodologies, and creating the future shape of planetary cultures. MISSION The Center for Arts, Design, and Social Research, Inc. is a private, nonprofit educational institution that provides instruction in and conducts research on the relationship of art, design, and technology to global societies. The Center offers workshops; artist, designer, and researcher commissions and residencies; exhibitions; publications; and other public programs designed to deepen the understanding of culture and its relationship to diverse communities.
