Centre for Educational and Social Studies(CESS) has been established in Bangalore, India, in response to the existing need for the periodic reassessment, debate and revisions in education within the context of social requirement vis-a-vis concerns of the community. The Centre projects a holistic and universal vision within the framework of Indian social reality. Its central mission is to strive to address critical issues in education and society with an applied, comprehensive and unbiased approach supported by unfailing assessment of facts, exploration and analysis, and the spirit of high quality transformation. From this perspective, appropriate education is regarded as the paramount means to treat social and economic infirmity and ill health confronted by the present Indian society.
