The Center for Emergency Medicine has been involved in EMS education for over 30 years. Having trained Paramedics and EMTs from many different countries, the Center has become involved in projects such as the development of the National Standard Curriculum, and the creation of a Bachelor's of Science in EMS at the University of Pittsburgh. Center Faculty have taught around the country and around the world over the 30 year history of the Center.The Center for Emergency Medicine is a multi-hospital consortium dedicated to the advancement of emergency medicine through research, education, air medical transport and quality care. Currently, the Center's member hospitals include University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian Shadyside, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, and UPMC Mercy Hospital
