Marcus Conyers, PhD and Donna Wilson, PhD founded this research, development, and implementation not-for-profit organization in 2003 with the mission of promoting cardiovascular health and well-being. Some 80% of heart disease and 70% of strokes are preventable through effective lifestyle strategies. The group's innovative BrainSMART® Health Wise prevention programs are grounded in the learning, health promotion, and implementation sciences. We advance our mission through our books, online graduate course materials, articles with Education Leadership and Kappan, blogs on Edutopia achieving 1,000,000 views, and by delivering keynote presentations at conferences in the USA and around the world. The CIEP is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit institution based in Florida.
