When the CLST was founded in 2009 we set as our mission to balance rigor and relevance in all of our work. Under the direction of Bruce J. Avolio, Mark Pigott Chair in Business Strategic Leadership, the Center for Leadership and Strategic Thinking at the University of Washington Foster School of Business focuses on integrating rigor and relevance in terms of how leadership and strategic thinking is developed. With this focus on integration, the center separates itself from the many other centers and programs available for developing leadership that do not have rigorous evidence that what they've recommended works.CENTER'S FOUNDATIONAL BASE VISION:We aim to steward individuals, groups, and organizations toward a heightened potential through advancing leadership science and practice.MISSION STATEMENT:To transform the intangible states of leadership into tangible successes.CORE VALUE:To be an authentic reflection of what we investigate and expect from others.
