Center for Peace and Tolerance (CPT) is a non-profitable nongovernmental organization, founded in 2002 and registered in accordance with UNMIK Regulation 2001/13. CPT has been founded with the aim to support strengthening capacities of local institutions in Kosovo Serb dominated municipalities and advocate transparent and cost effective local governance. CPT strongly advocates need for creating sound and effective Kosovo Serb representation at all levels of governance, and active participation of Kosovo Serbs in political and social life in Kosovo. Since 2001, Center for Peace and Tolerance is running a Minority Community Center in Pristina for elderly people. Furthermore, CPT has been working on projects that are promoting indigenous Kosovo Serb tradition through organizing annual Art and Graphic colony with young Kosovo Serb artists and organizing various cultural activities. CPT had successfully cooperated with various Kosovo and international institutions to address the security needs of Serbian community in Kosovo. In its history CPT had used a bottom up approach and succeeded to identify issues and concerns of the ordinary citizen from Serbian community and Kosovo society at large. Long term objectives of CPT are strengthening capacities of Kosovo Serbs and Kosovo Serb representatives through: ·Long-term and one-off research, education, training and publishing projects; ·Organizing academic conferences, seminars, round tables, workshops and similar events; ·Organizing fact-finding missions and monitoring groups; ·Establishing links and working with appropriate foreign and international associations and institutions which deal with the same issues as the CPT; ·Creating and maintaining a data bank of information and documentation relating to ethnic relations, conflicts and minority protection; ·Intensifying work on Social Advertising video production and Interethnic Media Production material.
