Center for Responsible Shale Development Details
The Center for Responsible Shale Development ("CRSD") brings together environmental, industry and community organizations committed to ensuring the highest level of environmental and community responsibility when a decision is made to develop and extract shale gas. We define and periodically update environmental performance standards to ensure continuous improvement and best practice, and certify and monitor responsible operations that meet those standards. CRSD advances environmental excellence by fostering collaboration, operating an independent auditing and certification program for shale operators and increasing public awareness of best practices to limit the risks and environmental impacts of shale development on communities and resources.
