The Department of Physics of Semiconductors and Microelectronics (DPS&M) incorporates R&D Center of Semiconductor Devices & Nanotechnologies (CSD&N) (the former Research Laboratory of Semiconductor Materials & Devices (RLSM&D)) and Chair of Physics of Semiconductors (CPS).In September 2007 the Research Laboratory was transformed into R&D Center of Semiconductor Devices & Nanotechnologies (CSD&N).Since 1977 the Head of Department (Chair) and Scientific Supervisor of the Center is Academician of the National Academy of Sciences Armenia (NASA) and Engineering Academy of Armenia (EAA), Prof. Dr. Vladimir M. Aroutiounian. The Head of RLSM&D since 2000 and Executive Director of the Center since 2007 is Dr. Valeri M. Arakelyan.
