501(c)(3) non-profit, public charity providing meat protein to families in need in the Dripping Springs community. Program management led by 4-H, FFA and high school youth striving to make a difference in their local community. Supported by 20 local community sponsors. Program impact since inception has resulted in helping feed 12 families in need fulfilling meat protein needs for 70 total family members for over 6 months. Each family receives 320 pounds of beef and pork in an individual, dedicated freezer located at a centralized location. Families meet youth volunteers once a week to pickup meat. In total, Center of the Plate has provided these families with meat protein for 10,800 meals.
