Research - Topanga, California, United States
CRoC is a research institution dedicated to understanding creative behavior and motivation -- and programmatic experiences that can boost creativity. The Centers were founded in 2011 by Professors James S. Catterall of University of California and Anne Bamford of the University of the Arts in London, UK. A feature of CRoC's work has been the creation and testing of the Next Generation Creativity Survey, a research tool that uses traditional self-report scales, along with ratings of original student work, to assess creative skills and motivations. The survey was piloted during 2012-13 in eight art, science, and social problem-solving programs.Since that time, through testing and refinement, the survey has developed into an assessment that accurately measures student progress across a range of metrics and evaluations. In 2017 it was renamed the Next Generation Creativity Assessment, which better characterizes it's purpose and it's use.
