Central Dakota Library Network (CDLN), formed in 1994, is a consortium of libraries in central North Dakota that agree to jointly and cooperatively exercise their respective separate powers with regard to the establishment, operation, funding, and administration of an online library system, pursuant to NDCC 54-40. The purpose of CDLN is to provide a shared integrated library system (ILS) and collections through intralibrary loan. CDLN works to operate, fund, and administer the ILS and its data so the collective strengths support and advance the research and learning of the members' constituents.CDLN facilitates reciprocal use by patrons of 20 libraries throughout Burleigh, Morton, McLean, Mercer, and Oliver counties. Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library serves as the hub of CDLN.CDLN is organized to carry out library activities solely for the purpose of benefiting educational institutions and libraries described in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
