Opened in December 2009 (in a ceremony with the presence of the former President of the American Medical Informatics Association, Prof. Don Detmer), the Center for Research and Creativity in Informatics is located at Hospital Prof. Doutor Fernando Fonseca, Amadora, Portugal at 5min from Lisbon.This unit focuses in health informatics research and development as well as health management and aims to support individual research projects within masters and doctorate programs. It also serves as an incubator for IT projects which are necessary for the hospital but assuming its future commercialization.CI2 is expanding its partnerships with universities and other national and international scientific entities establishing itself as a modern and innovator "locale", at the forefront of scientific development in its field, aiming to be in the centre for health development in Portugal and beyond.All publicated works are in English and is permanently open to anyone who is willing to work hard and has contributes for its fields of action.
