Considered one of the leading chamber music organizations in the US, the Chamber Music Society of Detroit serves an audience of tens of thousands each year, through concerts and school programs that touch the lives of many throughout Southeast Michigan.In the spring of 1944, a passionate audience for great live chamber music began assembling regularly for the concerts of the Chamber Music Society of Detroit. Founded by German immigrant pianist and national radio personality Karl Haas, the organization has thrived under the leadership of just four presidents throughout its entire history: Dr. Haas, Zalman "Tiny" Konikow, Lois R. Beznos, and since 2011, Stephen Wogaman.
