Institute of Agriculture and Forestry Maribor is a public institute set up by Founding Decree (ULRS 122/2000) on 15.12.2000. The founder was Slovene Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry (non-government farmer organization). The institute has been a legal successor of Institute of Agriculture Maribor in every legal and organizational form since 1894 when it was first established by Provincial Assembly of Štajerska.Institute is found for performing public services in agriculture advising, professional activities in agriculture plant production and professional activities in animal husbandry, forestry and other activities according with acquired concession on the area Podravje. Regarding with public authorization Institute also performing quality control in agriculture-food production.Institute performs the following public service activities: advising, teaching and training of farmers, owners and leaseholders of agriculture land and forests and transition of technological, economical and environment protection knowledge.Institute activities based on public authorization are: laboratory activities (pedological, wine and chemical laboratory), estimation of excessive emission influences on soil.Institute performs other economical activities and services: research activities, expert bases for local communities space plans, business plans, projects activities,...).
