Chapter Four Uganda was incorporated as a not-for-profit, non-partisan organization in April of 2013. The organization is a civil rights group with the primary focus of defending fundamental rights guaranteed in the Bill of Rights of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda and other international and regional human rights instruments to which Uganda is a signatory. The mission of the organization is to provide a robust, strategic and non-discriminatory legal response to the abuse of civil liberties in Uganda. Chapter Four Uganda employs strategic/public interest litigation, research and legal analysis; and innovative and bold advocacy as tools to advance social change and the protect civil liberties. The organisation focuses on traditionally under-represented and under-served groups and individuals in the community.The organization has grown from a small organization to a credible and widely quoted organization on civil liberties in Uganda.
