Chattenden Primary School is a warm and nurturing school in a semi-rural location based in the Peninsula in Medway. Chattenden was graded as ‘Good' in its November 2018 inspection. The inspection report describes how "the senior team have focused on improving teaching, using assessment information to plan opportunities to improve pupils' progress and on broadening the range of curricular and extra-curricular activities for pupils." Chattenden prides itself in its broad curriculum, using specialist teaching to enhance the learning experiences for its pupils. We excel in areas such as music and sport, as well as maintaining a key focus on the core curriculum. The school has won many national and county-based competitions, all of which are a result of the enhanced curriculum. The school is in the process of applying for the Arts Mark and History Mark. The individual child is at the centre of Chattenden's philosophy of "Success, No Matter What." The environment has been enhanced to ensure that the school is a vibrant place for learning. The school benefits from a dedicated library, ICT suite, music room, outdoor gym, a large school field, nurture group room and spacious school hall. Chattenden has a dedicated and passionate teaching team providing a first-class education for the pupils in their care. This includes offering a range of after school clubs in a number of different subjects, including a choir, football, netball, gymnastics and German club.The school benefits from a great degree of independence as the only school in the Peninsula Gateway Academy Trust.
