The Chesapeake Film Festival brings outstanding narrative, comedy, documentary and short films to Easton, St. Michael's, Oxford and Cambridge that otherwise would not be available to the citizens of the Eastern Shore of Maryland and surrounding areas. Our third annual festival in 2010 builds on the extraordinary successes of our first two festivals in 2008 and 2009 and has expanded to include Gallery 447 in the town of Cambridge as a new film venue! CFF has partnered and worked with Easton Premier Cinemas, Plein Air, the Talbot Cinema Society, the Talbot Office of Tourism, and others, and serves the community through the Mid-Shore Community Foundation. In addition, our film festival proudly enhances Easton's growing reputation as a center for the arts, adding a new and complementary dimension to existing arts events, such as the Waterfowl, Chamber Music and Plein Air festivals. The exciting variety of films that CFF brings have won numerous awards all over the world at prestigious awards ceremonies and represent the distinguished work of both new ground-breaking films as well as beloved classics. The Board of Directors is immensely grateful to each and every person who supports our festival! VISION AND MISSION STATEMENT It is the mission of the Chesapeake Film Festival to entertain, enrich and inspire by bringing the finest in narrative, documentary and short film to the Chesapeake Bay community. The films we intend to showcase are broadly focused to illuminate both the diversity and the universality of the human condition. We believe films can affect positive change and through this medium individuals and communities gain a greater understanding of themselves and the world. We envision a festival that stimulates, educates and empowers.
