Oil & Energy - Chester, England, United Kingdom
The Cheshire Energy Hub is an energy sector support organisation, which has been entirely funded and strategically driven by industry. It works with its member organisations and key stakeholders in promoting collaborative action, advancing the skills agenda and working towards business solutions. It initially established a successful Graduate Recruitment Programme and now provides the conduit for collaboration across various energy initiatives. Members include C-Tech Innovation, EA Technology, Encirc, Essar Oil UK, Peel Environmental, Protos, Storengy UK and URENCO, together with the Cheshire & Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership, Cheshire West and Chester Council and the University of Chester: Thornton Science Park. This existing cluster represents an area that currently consumes around 5% of the UK's energy and contains some of the UK's most significant and energy intensive infrastructure, including Ineos Chlor, Essar's Stanlow Refinery, CF Fertilisers, Encirc and URENCO. Cheshire Energy Hub has just launched the Energy Innovation District, providing the overarching environment which – as a result of lower energy costs – delivers a strategy to drive innovation, supports industry to succeed and encourages growth and investment.
