Chi Lin Optoelectronics, a spin-off of the former Chi Lin Technology's Backlight Module Business Group, is a professional company that deeply cultivates technology development, and is an innovator and manufacturer of products such as backlight units (BLU), liquid crystal modules (LCM), sets and related key components. Since 2000, Chi Lin has followed Chi Mei Group's transformation policy to expand into the Optoelectronics Industry and has been engaged in research and development (R&D) and production of key components associated with optoelectronics. In 2002, it launched its first production line of backlight modules. The Backlight Module Business Group was officially established in 2004. With the growth of the flat panel display market, Chi Lin's business has been simultaneously growing as well. As the present development trend of the liquid crystal display (LCD) industry is focused on environmental protection and conserving energy, Chi-Lin's social responsibility drove the change of its backlight source from cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) tubes to light-emitting diodes (LED). As a responsible industry leader, Chi Lin is committed to the environment.In 2008, Chi Lin integrated the resources of Chi Mei Group and pioneered the evolution of large, ultra-slim TV backlight modules (LED).
