Chiddingstone Castle is a Grade II listed historic house set in 35 acres of Kentish countryside with far-reaching views, within easy reach of London. An accredited museum home to the late Denys Eyre Bower's fascinating collection of global art & antiquities. From Ancient Egypt to Japan and beyond, Chiddingstone Castle is home to five impressive collections which are the lifetime's work by this gifted collector. These collections are displayed throughout the historic house, which was his home from 1955 to 1977.The charming castle is also very popular for private events, corporate and public. Well established as an award-winning heritage wedding venue. Set location for film, TV, fashion shoots and music videos. Host to corporate away days and launch events as well as many a private celebration from the beginning of life and Christening receptions through to birthdays, anniversary's and funeral wakes. The grounds are also the setting for various public events throughout the year including exhibitions, craft fairs, jazz concerts, live theatre, school holiday activities, artist workshops and music events.Chiddingstone Castle and the collections of Denys Eyre Bower are cared for by a charitable trust. All donations help towards the maintenance of the historic buildings, collections, grounds and the education and events programme. Denys left the Castle and collections to the nation so that future generations could enjoy and be inspired by them.
