Mental Health Care - Santa Ana, California, United States
CHOC Children's/UC Irvine collaborative program known as CUIDAR (soon to be known as Child Behavior Pathways) which is funded by the Children's and Families Commission of Orange County. For the past 10 years the CUIDAR program has been helping children succeed in their home and school environments by placing an emphasis on behavior prevention and early intervention for parents and teachers. The services are geared to help parents nurture positive relationships with their children, improve family functioning, better understand and effectively manage challenging behaviors using evidence-based tools so that the child will have a more successful experience moving forward. We offer these services through two 9-week classes that are designed to address the changing developmental needs of the child. • COPEing with Toddler Behavior (CWTB) for parents of children ages 0-3 who wish to learn about encouraging and nurturing a healthy and positive relationship with their infant/toddler. • Community Parent Education (COPE) for parents of children ages 3-5, helping them effectively manage challenging behaviors and improve overall family functioning.
