There are 5.6 million children in Cambodia but research has shown that half of them, experience some form of abuse on a daily basis. That's 2.8 million children who are marginalized, mistreated and overlooked every day. At Child Rights Foundation, we envision a world where children's rights are realized in all circumstances and are fully understood by everyone. We want to mobilize government entities, teachers and parents in ensuring that the children in their care are protected. We are passionate about empowering children to participate in the decision-making and advocacy of their own rights, to speak up and be heard by society, a rarity in Khmer culture. The four of us who created CRF 17 years ago, are born and bred Cambodians and did so in response to a problem we noticed in our own communities. We know firsthand how dangerous it can be when the rights of children aren't recognized, that is why we want to make Cambodia a safe space for children to grow up healthy and happy.At Child Rights Foundation, we are committed to establishing permanent change in the way Cambodian children are viewed, treated and cared for but we still have a long way to go. We believe, with your help, we can educate children and empower caregivers to ensure that no child in Cambodia will ever have to suffer in silence again.
