Childlife Foundation was born of the idea to respond to the need for proper pediatric care and partner with Government hospitals, Private facilities and other NGOs'. The most practical and the quickest way to make an impact were to facilitate the larger government pediatric units and manage them as a public/ private initiative. This would include but not limited to complete renovationof pre-existing facilities and provision of essential supplies, human resource and system.Childlife Foundation is currently catering to approximately 9,000 patients on a monthly basis at the Civil Hospital Emergency Unit. More than 105,000 sickest and poorest children have been taken care of since November 2011.The foundation has already signed an MOU with the government of Sindh to renovate and manage the emergency room at National Institute of Child Health. This largest children's facility in Pakistan will then have more than doubled its capacity to a 70 bedded operation. Childlife shall then cater to more than 12,000 patients on a monthly basis.
