Established with the express purpose to set up 'Children's Discovery' - a family destination of accessible, engaging and educational activities promoting a life-long love of learning. Philosophy modeled on the international children's museum movement. Pilot traveling activities include Kids Dig, Build It, Tour of the Tummy and HMS Discovery. Promotion of science literacy and discovery skills through Little Bang Discovery Club and Spark!Science Boxes operating in community libraries.\\A private donor and a collaboration with the University of Wollongong resulted in a Federal Government grant of $31M for Early Start, a $44M teaching and research facility incorporating a 2000sqm Children's Discovery Centre. Linked by technology to 38 regional, remote and rural Early Start Engagement Centres spread across the State.
