"China-Asia Economic Development Association", originally founded in 1993 as "China-Korea Economic Development Association", is a national, top level organization entity registered at the PRC Ministry of Civil Affairs, and supervised by the PRC Ministry of Foreign Affairs. With approvals from both ministries, it was officially renamed "China-Japan-Korea Economic Development Association" in August, 2009, and was further renamed "China-Asia Economic Development Association" in May 2016 to support the Belt and Road Initiative. China-Asia Economic Development Association" aims to organize and coordinate its member companies' participation in the Belt and Road Initiative, to carry out exchanges with the industrial and commercial enterprises of Asian countries, to promote bilateral, multilateral economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation, and to enhance mutual understanding, friendship, and development, in support of China's diplomacy and economic-social development.
