Nonprofit Organization Management - Pleasanton, California, United States
Royal Chinese Culture Academy (RCCA) is a nonprofit organization in California, USA. We organize volunteer and cultural exchange programs, AKA the Chinaway, for American high and college school students to travel and serve in China. We have completed our tenth year of Chinaway volunteering operations. The 2008 Wenchaun earthquake led to an expansion of volunteer work in China. In 2009, the Department of Education and other agencies in Sichuan commissioned China Way to organize a volunteer program for American high school students to volunteer in China. The American students served in rural Chinese villages and formed deep and lasting bonds with the Chinese children they met. The Chinaway Volunteer Program is a summer volunteer program that has been held for 11 years. The main objective is to organize American high school students to go to China's rural towns and villages to teach English and organize Chinese-American cultural summer camps. Our teaching will be held in school classrooms, community centers, children's centers, etc. There are more than 20 Chinese students in each class, and each volunteer will teach for several hours a day. The program will focus on learning and exercising:• Leadership skill• Class room management skill • Independence ability• Interaction with Chinese studentsIn summer of 2019, the prorams will take place in the following locations:• Dujiangyan, Sichuan• Nanning, Guangxi• Ya'an, Sichuan• Pingjiang, Hunan• Bashang Grassland,HebeiPrevious programs:• https://youtu.be/HOisFWIeIh0• https://youtu.be/Z3T_NR2BqQ0• https://youtu.be/Z53NqeYWQlY
