Chinytown Studios Details
Chinytown Studios is an animation studio based out of San Francisco, CA with a satellite office in Los Angeles. Originally founded by three classmates from Gnomon school of VFX in Hollywood, their specialties include stop motion, 3d hard surface organic and hard surface modeling, and animation. Chinytown was born as a homage to their favorite cartoons. Drawing from inspirations such as Calvin and Hobbes, Simpsons, and Southpark as a way to share their own tales and tribulations with the world. Pings is their latest project. It is a short in the works about youth, family, love, loss, curiosity and magic with an anticipated release date of April 2014. After submission to the Sundance Film Festival, the studio also plans to release a comic book spinoff based on Pings.
