Chop Wood Carry Water, Inc. (CWCW) is a New York City based production company specializing in independent film and video for television and theatrical release. The company's projects include dramatic films, documentaries, commercials and music videos.CWCW's most recent film, Ten For Grandpa, a period film based on the infamous life of Cold War merchant banker, David Karr, was officially selected to premier at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. Funded by Bravo!, Ten For Grandpa will premiere on Bravo! in late 2009. Past projects include the explosively un-romantic comedy Anniversary Present staring David Alpay (Ararat, The Tudors) and Liane Balaban (New Waterford Girl), also for Bravo!. The eight-month African documentary Lifecycles: a story of AIDS in Malawi, an hour-long film featuring the music of SONY recording artist Bobby McFerrin, was funded by UNAIDS, The NFB, and Link TV. The 2007 follow-up documentary The Face of AIDS, produced in conjunction with The Leitner Center, has had multiple international screenings. The comedic mental health caper, The Straitjacket Lottery was commissioned by The CBC and Bravo!, and stars Andy Jones (Rare Birds, CODCO), David Huband (The Newsroom) and Tara Slone (La Femme Nikita, Rockstar INXS). Other projects include the award winning documentary films LSD 25 and The June Bug Symphony. These films screened at dozens of international film festivals, winning numerous awards and were licensed by multiple broadcasters.As well as in-house productions, CWCW's commercial endeavors include productions for clients such as General Mills, Saatchi & Saatchi, Physician's Formula, Playtex, Elle.com, Etsy, Velour Records, itsasickness, Amgott-Mitchell, Domino Magazine, Aldo, Pearson Education, Scotia Bank, American Express Canada, Rotary Club International, The ONE Campaign and multiple broadcast campaigns for Nick at Nite.
